The #TechDiversity Awards recognise individuals and groups that are raising awareness and creating change through diversity initiatives and programs.

Nominations display outstanding expressions of leadership, behaviour, commitment and courage – key touchstones that embrace inclusion and drive diversity.

Nomination Criteria and Questions

#Techdiversity seeks nominations (or self-nominations) of new or established (>2yrs) Initiatives that demonstrate excellence across one or more of the following sectors:

  • Government
  • Business
  • Media
  • Education


The nominated initiative amplifies diversity awareness achieving a culture of inclusion through conversation, collaboration and action.



Nomination assessment is against criteria that align to #TechDiversity Foundation values:

  • The uniqueness of the Initiative compared to existing sector programs
  • Demonstration of Behavioural change within the organisation
  • The plan to ensure the Commitment to the initiatives ongoing success
  • Courage exhibited in creating and fostering the initiative
  • Leadership driving the initiative
  • Contribution to diversity in science, technology, engineering or maths sectors.


Nominations are to cover:

  • Overview of the project or initiative
  • Approach
  • Actions /initiatives
  • Follow up/ response (to the project or initiative)
  • Actions to overcome resistance, and
  • Outcomes achieved, relating to diversity targets and wider program goals


Our judges are industry, government and educational experts.  Judging will be based on a ratings model and the outcomes of the nominated initiatives in fostering diversity will be at the heart of the reviews.
